Amoxicillin is a type of penicillin antibiotic that is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including those that cause respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary tract infections. It works by preventing the growth and replication of bacteria by inhibiting the production of essential cell wall components.
Colistin, on the other hand, is a polymyxin antibiotic that is often used as a last resort for treating infections caused by bacteria that are resistant to other types of antibiotics. It acts by disrupting the outer membrane of the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell death.
