TETRAMED acts bacteriostatic effective against a large number of Gram-positiveand Gram-negative bacteria.

Description

Oxytetracycline acts bacteriostatic by inhibiting the protein synthesis for bacterial multiplication. It is effective against a large number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Mycoplasma, Rickettsia and Chlamydia spp.

Indications

In veterinary medicine, TETRAKLOR powder is typically administered orally to cattle, pigs, and poultry. It is used to treatment of respiratory infections (caused by Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus =
Haemophilus, Mycoplasmas) and against enteric infections (caused by Clostridium spp., Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp.) in poultry. In calves and small ruminants is effective against Bronchopneumonia (caused by Pasteurella spp,, Haemophilus spp., Mycoplasmas), against lameness (caused by Mortellaro disease), against conjunctivitis (caused by Moraxella bovis), against Actinomycosis, against Rickettsia infections and against Chlamydia infections.

Composition

Each 1 gm contains:
Tetracycline 500 mg

Dosage

For oral administration:
Poultry: 400 gm per 1000-1500 litres of drinking water during 3-5 days.
Calves, sheep, goats, lambs, kids: 1 gm per 5 kg bodyweight daily, during 3-5 days.
Pigs, piglets: 1 gm per 5 kg bodyweight daily, during 3-5 days, or 800 gm per 1,000 kg of feed, or 800 gm in 1000 litres of drinking water during 3-5 days.
Mixed with feed, the product should be used immediately. Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.
